Job Summary and Qualifications

Direct overall administrative and technical operations of the Finance Department. Develop, execute and oversee all phases of Finance, including the monthly financial statement close process, Third Party accounting and reimbursement analysis (including logging systems and reconciliation), monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, annual budget, annual cost report package, statistical gathering and reporting, financial computer systems balancing/maintenance troubleshooting, accounts payable processing, year-end 1099 process, productivity/labor utilization reporting, cashiering functions, Charge Description Master issues and maintenance, annual financial audits (internal and external), Decision Support analysis, and primary resource to department directors for financial issues. Also responsible for the month end accounting, financial statements, balance sheet, budget and analysis and questions regarding System Support and Division. Other duties as required or assigned by supervisor. 

  • You will ensure a timely and accurate month-end close and reporting of statistics 
  • You will prepare appropriate and accurate government contractual accounting records 
  • You will ensure a timely and thorough balance sheet process and review on a monthly basis 
  • You will coordinate and prepare an accurate and thorough budget in the timeframes specified 
  • You will prepare accurate and complete cost report work papers in the timeframes specified 
  • You will ensure that invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner, including payment and accrual of all taxes, and that all 1099 information is complete and accurate 
  • You will ensure accurate PLUS productivity reports used by departments and senior administration 
  • You will ensure that CDM and billing compliance issues are addressed appropriately 
  • You will coordinate with the PAS cashiering functions to ensure cash is appropriately coded 
  • You will ensure accurate fixed asset reporting 
  • You will coordinate the annual audits so that work papers are prepared timely and there are few adjustments or comments 
  • You will work with corporate on sales and use tax audits 
  • You will ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley hospital key controls and coordinate requirements with key individuals 
  • You will complete quarterly Sarbanes security audits 
  • You will sign off on all Balance Sheet Review Guides, Sarbanes quarterly audits and attestations 
  • You will manage the nurse audit function and coordinates with the PAS on nurse audit billing requirements to include charge master compliance 

What qualifications you will need:

  •  Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Certified Public Accountant 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5 years progressive financial management experience
