Control Valve Technician II

Pay Range: $25/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Control Valve Technician II to support inspection, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of control valves and related equipment. This role builds upon the responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician I and requires increased technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting manufacturer, customer, and industry standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician I
  • Locate, interpret, and apply manufacturer installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
  • Inspect valves and related equipment to identify required corrective actions within authorized scope
  • Perform Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot new valves and equipment in accordance with applicable codes, standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer requirements
  • Install instrumentation and valve accessories as required
  • Operate diagnostic equipment, including but not limited to Valscope, profiler, and related tools
  • Calibrate measurement and test equipment in accordance with internal quality procedures
  • Measure, verify, and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specifications
  • Accurately document inspection results, test data, and calibration records

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience as a Control Valve Technician I or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of control valve assemblies, components, and instrumentation
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and specifications
  • Experience operating diagnostic and calibration equipment
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and quality procedures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

  • Shop and/or field-based work environment
  • Use of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and diagnostic devices
  • May require standing, lifting, and working with mechanical components

Compensation

  • $25/hour, based on experience and qualifications
