Job DetailsRequisition ID: 296265Relocation Authorized: National - FamilyTelework Type: Part-Time TeleworkWork Location: Houston, TX; Chandler, AZJob SummaryIn this role, you will plan, develop, and review control systems design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure control systems designs comply with all regulations and standards. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.Major ResponsibilitiesDevelop designs for complete Control Systems engineering systems with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.Assist in constructing detailed scale models.When working in a lead role, assign tasks to best use the knowledge, experience, and capabilities of less experienced Control Systems designers/drafters assigned.Ensure compliance with approved Control Systems design standards, applicable installation codes, and regulations in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design.Review and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion.Participate in constructability reviews.Possess responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take‑offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline.Work with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.Develop work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Control Systems designer tasks based on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline.Generate 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others.Education and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and SkillsKnowledge of P&IDs, Cable Schedules, IO Lists and Network Architecture Diagrams.Preparation of Instrument Wiring Drawings and Loop Drawings using SPI Wiring and Loop Generation Modules.Experience performing Clash Checks in 3D models and coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders to develop a clash‑free system design.Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools.Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, or Data Center.Total Rewards / BenefitsBechtel offers robust benefits to ensure our people thrive.
