Job Description

Leidos currently has an opening for an experienced Contracts Manager to support our Digital Modernization Sector. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills and experience across a diverse portfolio of programs with significant visibility throughout the Corporation. The selected candidate will report to a Director of Contracts within the Digital Modernization Sector and will support contract management, proposal development, and related activities for a portfolio within a Business Area.

This is an individual contributor role. The position is eligible for partial telework; however, the supporting Business Area is located in Reston, VA. Candidates must be in the Northern Virginia, District of Columbia or Southern Maryland areas due to requirement to attend face-to-face meetings with customers on a recurring basis.

Primary Responsibility

The Contracts Manager serves as the primary interface between the company and customer contracts personnel, providing strategic oversight and administration of contractual activities across assigned programs and projects. This role supports proposal development and review, monitors contract performance, participates in negotiations, resolves contractual and performance-related issues, identifies and mitigates risks, and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.

Provide guidance and support to business counterparts and less experienced contracts staff.

Collaborate regularly with program management, finance, project controls, business development, legal, and customer representatives as required.

Develop, review, and manage contract and subcontract documentation, including flow-down requirements, to ensure compliance and minimize organizational risk and liability.

Support internal and external audits, reviews, and data requests from stakeholders and customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Government (FAR / DFAR) contracting: Fixed Price (FP), Time & Material (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contracts.
  • Must have the ability to make sound business judgments, handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a Team.
  • The Candidate must be proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to include well developed analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to identify and mitigate contract risks as well as coordinate appropriate reviews in accordance with Leidos policy and procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including experience negotiating complex terms and conditions
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with executive management and staff regarding Contracts issues with high degrees of complexity and work issues to resolution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and currently possess Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility.
  • Prior experience managing Department of Defense/Department of War contracts
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, Finance, or a related field
