About this Job

A Grant Supervisor oversees the day-to-day administration of grant activities while directly supervising grant reviewers to ensure applications, budgets, and reports are accurate, compliant, and submitted on time. This role assigns and reviews workloads, provides training and guidance, and ensures staff follow established policies, procedures, and reporting requirements. The supervisor is responsible for quality control of grant documentation, resolving routine issues, supporting staff performance, and maintaining organized, audit-ready records. The position also coordinates with internal units and communicates necessary updates to support overall grant operations and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualification must have been in contracts or grants management:

Six years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting; OR

An advanced degree in business or public administration, finance, economics, or statistics plus two years of experience in contracts or grants management, procurement, financial management, or accounting.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities of a staff of Contracts/Grants Reviewers engaging in developing, monitoring and administering federal and state contracts and/or grants.
  • Supervises the pre-award development, post-award monitoring, and closeout of a number of complex statewide grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists Contracts/Grants Reviewer Manager in preparing grant budget reports and other grant reports required by federal and state laws in accordance with terms of agreement.
  • Oversees the preparation and development of contracts and grants agreements, applications, budgets, and amendments in accordance with federal and state regulations and restrictions, and in accordance with Department policies and procedures.
  • Trains, assigns work, approves leave, applies disciplinary procedures, and evaluates performance of all Contracts/Grants Reviewers in accordance with Department policy.
  • Assists program personnel. Contracts/Grants Unit personnel, and administrative personnel in preparation of grants and contracts, amendments, revisions, and closeouts in accordance with Departments policies and procedures.
  • Research grant funding opportunities that support Louisiana State Police enhancement to its programs and provide OMF notification of awards for state budget planning.
  • Assists Contracts/Grants Reviewer Manager in the hiring process for contracts/grants personnel and makes recommendations relative to hiring and other personnel decisions.
  • Performs Manager's duties in the absence of the Contracts/Grants Reviewer Manager.
  • Performs other duties necessary to the efficient operation of the section and any other duties assigned by the Commander, Executive Officer, or Contracts/Grants Reviewer Manager.
