Ascent Behavioral Hospital is seeking a contracted Yoga Instructor / Sound Healing Practitioner to lead evening programming for adolescents in a behavioral health setting. This role focuses on restorative/Yin yoga, mindfulness, and sound healing to support emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.
Requirements
Deliver consistent, high-quality sessions in accordance with the agreed-upon schedule.
Exercise professional judgment in modifying instruction based on patient presentation and group dynamics.
Maintain situational awareness and respond appropriately to patient needs or behavioral concerns.
Communicate effectively with designated hospital staff regarding scheduling, participation, and concerns.
Adhere to all applicable facility policies related to safety, confidentiality, and patient interaction.
Action Oriented: Proactively delivers engaging and therapeutic programming.
Communication: Provides clear instruction and maintains effective coordination with staff.
Patient Focus: Creates a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Interpersonal Skills: Establishes rapport while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Adaptability: Adjusts sessions based on patient needs and clinical considerations.
Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrates empathy and awareness in a behavioral health setting.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrates proficiency in restorative/Yin yoga and sound healing practices.
Required:
Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT-200 or higher preferred)
Demonstrated experience in restorative and/or Yin yoga practices
Training or certification in sound healing modalities
Experience working with adolescents or ability to work effectively in a behavioral health setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to trauma-informed practices and patient safety
CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Must pass a federal background check and meet facility credentialing requirements
Preferred:
Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or healthcare environments
Additional certifications in mindfulness, meditation, or somatic therapies
Experience working with high-acuity or clinical populations
