GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

This is a contract position governed by the terms and conditions of the employment agreement.
Pay: $18 Work Schedule:
Week 1:
Monday and Tuesday: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM
Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM-8:00 PM
Week 2:
Wednesday, and Thursday: 12:00 PM-8:00 PM
There is a mandatory unpaid 1-hour lunch break each shift. This schedule alternates on a rotating two-week basis.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Paraprofessional work providing support and specialized enforcement for the Parking Enforcement Division within the Cape Coral Police Department.
- Under the general supervision of the Sergeant assigned to the division, performs research, investigative, enforcement, and follow-up duties on parking violations for the City.
- Issues notices of violation and parking citations for non-compliance with parking regulations.
- Prepares and processes cases for administrative review or hearings as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or GED is required, and one (1) year of vocational work experience in enforcement, investigation, or customer service.
- Must satisfactorily complete approved training, when scheduled, to become a Parking Enforcement Specialist, as outlined in city code §12-127 within six (6) months of hire.
- Must satisfactorily complete the CJSTC approved course for Parking Enforcement Specialist within six (6) months of hire.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license upon hire and obtain a valid Florida driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire.

- Fire Plan - Normal Retirement Eligibility: Hired before 6/16/2014, age 50 or 25 years of service; Hired on/after 6/16/2014, age 52 with 10 years of service or just 25 years of service.
- Benefit Rate Multiplier:
- General Plan - Less than 20 years of credited service = 2.5%; 20 or more years of credited service = 2.6% for 1st 20 years and 2.75% each year over 20

- Benefits available at retirement are determined by a formula that considers your salary and years of service. Normal retirement eligibility for Police Employees at age 52 or 27 years of service. Benefit rate multiplier for Police: 3.25%
