Title: Contract Manager/Purchasing Specialist

Key Project Requirements:

  • Manage all contractual, commercial, claims, and change order activities for a large-scale power generation construction project.
  • Support project leadership by identifying, documenting, and mitigating contractual, schedule, and cost impacts throughout project execution.
  • Serve as the primary site-based commercial resource coordinating with project management, subcontractors, consortium partners, and customers.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to support a large-scale power generation project in Pennsylvania. This position will be responsible for administering commercial and contractual activities during project execution, including subcontract management, claims administration, change order management, delay tracking, risk mitigation, payment verification, and contract compliance. The Contract Manager will work closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to identify and manage contractual risks, maintain project documentation, support dispute resolution efforts, and protect project interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer contractual and commercial activities with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and project partners.
  • Maintain contract documentation, event logs, risk registers, claims logs, and change order tracking systems.
  • Prepare and support notices, claims, counterclaims, back charges, delay notifications, and change order requests.
  • Track project delays, disruptions, costs, damages, and schedule impacts while supporting mitigation and recovery efforts.
  • Support negotiation and resolution of claims, disputes, and contract modifications.
  • Review subcontractor payment applications and support payment certification processes.
  • Monitor project milestones and schedules to identify potential contractual or commercial impacts.
  • Attend project meetings and document key commercial events, disputes, delays, and contractual matters.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Maintain detailed project records and supporting documentation for claims, disputes, insurance events, and recovery efforts.
  • Prepare regular commercial and contractual status reports for project leadership.
  • Provide contractual interpretation and guidance to project teams throughout project execution.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in contract management, commercial management, claims administration, or project controls within industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting large EPC, power generation, transmission, substation, energy, or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, claims management, change orders, schedule impacts, and dispute resolution.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and contract law principles.
  • Ability to interpret complex contracts and communicate contractual requirements to project stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and contract management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting power generation, utility, energy, or other large industrial EPC projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience with contract claims, extension of time requests, variation orders, and commercial risk management preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a site-based construction or commissioning environment preferred.
