Contract Assistant (TYAFB-2026-25044):

Bowhead Marine Support Services (BMSS) seeks applicants for a Contract Assistant at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL., responsible for assistant the Project Manager with administrative and logistical coordination and performance of work for all boat operations related to the contractor operation maintenance and Logistics of 120' Missile Retrievers and other small craft in support of direct support of the 53rd Weapons Group, 82nd Aerial Target Squadron.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions will include:

  • Assist with the adminitrative and logistical and all contractual requirements/deliverables delineated in the Contract/Delivery Orders. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day duties of BMSS personnel in support of all requirements/deliverables provided to the 53rd Weapons Group, 82nd Aerial Target Squadron.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement in all aspects of business processes, policies and procedures.
  • Schedules manpower and equipment for ship movements and operations, perform data analysis for corrective maintenance, labor hours expended, cost accounting and develop spread sheets and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Management, Marine Transportation or Engineering* BA/BS degree * preferred with three plus(3+) years’ of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a full understanding of high risk training evolutions. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel computer programs
  • Must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of United States Coast Guard licensing requirements and understanding of small boat operations.
  • Capable of interacting effectively with all personnel, be proactive and professionally respond to concerns in a timely manner.
  • Active engagement in all aspects of the operations is a requirement.

Physical Demands: The work environment varies and includes, but is not limited to: dock, port, bay, waterways, office space, equipment rooms, warehouse space, construction zones, and outdoor environments. Work hours may fluctuate outside of normal duty hours. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle, move, manipulate or feel objects, talk and/or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and/or walk and routinely required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Routinely required to stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or squat.
  • Frequently lifts and /or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves 75-100 pounds with the assistance of deckhands and/or heavy lifting equipment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
