We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Risk Management professional to support bidding, contract administration, and project execution across complex construction projects. This role partners closely with project teams, legal counsel, and leadership to protect company interests, ensure compliance, and support successful project delivery.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities
Contract & Risk Management

Review bid documents, specifications, and contract terms from a risk management perspective
Analyze prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure compliance with company policies
Maintain a thorough understanding of contract pricing and required deliverables
Monitor project status to safeguard the company’s contractual rights
Coordinate and assist with claims resolution, disputes, and litigation preparation
Serve as primary liaison with legal counsel

Project & Vendor Administration

Coordinate solicitation of vendors and subcontractors, including DBE participation and reporting
Prepare, execute, and distribute purchase documents, bonds, guarantees, and insurance verifications
Track and maintain subcontractor insurance, security, and lien releases
Coordinate required filings, notices, and liens for projects
Support project close‑out documentation and maintain permanent contract files

DBE & Compliance Support

Manage DBE utilization plans, outreach efforts, and compliance reporting
Assess DBE opportunities and risks throughout bidding and project execution
Review owner submittals to ensure contractual requirements are met

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with project teams, division managers, and leadership to identify risks, issues, and opportunities
Assist division managers with collection of overdue funds
Identify and implement process improvements within the department


Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
10+ years of experience in construction project management or contract administration preferred
Heavy/highway construction experience strongly preferred
Experience working with State DOTs, municipalities, and federal agencies (e.g., US Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy)
Experience managing DBE, MBE, or Small Business Utilization plans

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of construction contracts and risk management practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
