Rooted in the values of quality service and integrity, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where employees can advance, innovate, and contribute to our ongoing success.DescriptionThe Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for using expertise and experience to lead daily management systems and loss elimination processes that enable stable, reliable production of high-quality products.What You'll DoLead centerline management across multiple areas by driving daily execution, coaching teams on standard work, and sustaining disciplined Daily Management System performanceAssist in leading the Shift Hand-Off, Shift Operational Review, Daily Operational Review, and Weekly Operational Review to understand losses, coach, build capability, etc.Ensure team daily management addresses centerline/Q-factor outages and quality issuesEngage and add value in Daily Management Systems and Equipment health checks with the line leader and team leaders to coach standards managementEnsure set-up / changeovers are executed per the standards and own ongoing improvement/loss elimination of the proceduresAudit health checks and GPS audits, including CL, CIL, DH, and IECreate and implement the Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) programProvide RCA coaching, tracking, and verification of implemented actionsSupport the Gemba Walk programCreate and maintain KPI reports, including SOR, DOR, WOR, weekly performance losses, and master plan reportingSupport GPS implementation and auditingSupport LMS and onboarding trainingSupport the HPWS (Pay for Skills) program and assist with implementationSupport the Suggestion Boards programServe as Project Manager for Cost Saving Initiative (CSI) and productivity projectsCreate, implement, and sustain the Waste Elimination programDevelop people through Lean Six Sigma coaching and training, including creating, implementing, and sustaining White Belt, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt certification programsLeadership / Management ResponsibilityTour Leadership (Coaching team on standards execution)Coach the teams on keeping the line at base conditionDepartment level system ownership (could also own a site level system)Be a coach for the teams on the use of GPS (IWS) tools to solve problems (Why Why, Basic Problem Solving, etc.)Escalate issues that need further attention properlyDemonstrate the GSF Creed and ValuesEducation / CertificationBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering: Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical preferred.Experience2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment implementing Continuous Improvement tools; OR in a continuous improvement role.Food Manufacturing (preferred)Six Sigma Certification (preferred)Language SkillsHigh level of reading comprehensionAbility to write detailed correspondence and documentationAbility to use effective problem solving skillsMathematical SkillsAbility to utilize complex mathematical formulas and ability to relate scientific theory to real world work processesPhysical RequirementsAbility to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothingStand/walk 8 or more hours per dayConstantly twist/turn and talk/hearFrequently squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasksOccasionally lift up to 25 lbs from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feetSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color visionEnvironmental / Atmospheric ConditionsConstantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environmentsConstantly work near moving machineryConstantly work in cold (35-40 degrees)Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protectionMachines / Tools / Equipment / SoftwareBump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.Rubber and cotton gloves.Knowledge of equipment on the production line you are responsible forAdvanced level of computer skillsWhy Join UsGolden State Foods (GSF) is one of the largest diversified suppliers in the food industry, manufacturing a range of products including sauces, dressings, condiments, syrups, and toppings for leading restaurant and retail brands.People First: At Golden State Foods, we're not just a company; we're a dynamic community where your talents are celebrated, and your ambitions are nurtured.Values Driven: Our core values drive everything we do, creating a culture of innovation, integrity, and excellence.
