Position Overview

The Department Coordinator provides programmatic and departmental support within the School of Continuing Education and Professional Development while providing accurate program information to the community.

What you will be doing

• Coordinates the enrollment management function for the School of Continuing Education and Professional Development • Prepares enrollment reports, room utilization reports, and program analysis • Prepares the course offering schedule for assigned programs each term • Researches and identifies potential new program offerings • Works with Continuing Education (CE) faculty in the coordination of courses, room availability, scheduling of rooms, and facility requirements • Monitors class enrollment and student fee payment prior to start of class • Provides support to students on registration and course offerings • Provides support to new faculty/adjuncts in the hiring process and integration to the department • Assists with program marketing and advertising • Attends community and college events to promote programs, as needed • Oversees part-time personnel and student assistant, as needed • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

• Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of experience in responsible administrative and clerical work; or equivalent combination of education and experience • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution • Knowledge and understanding of college organization, goals, and objectives, policies, and procedures • Extensive knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office applications • Proficient administrative skills including ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations • Knowledge of the principles of office management and practices • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) • Possess strong organizational skill and ability to follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic cultural environment with staff, faculty, and students
