    Description

    In this role, you will work alongside a Certified Contact Lens Fitter to provide outstanding patient care while learning the fundamentals of contact lens fitting and management. Responsibilities include assisting in the Contact Lens Department by ordering contact lenses for patients both in person and over the phone, verifying and applying insurance benefits for contact lens orders, evaluations, and new fittings, scheduling patient evaluations and fitting appointments, managing contact lens orders and inventory, and notifying patients when their lenses are ready for pickup.

    We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills who is eager to learn and grow in the field of ophthalmology. Previous healthcare experience is a plus but not required-we provide comprehensive on-the-job training and opportunities for career advancement.

    Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required

    Required Minimum Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous customer service experience preferred.
    • Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Professional demeanor with a commitment to exceptional patient care.
    • Willingness to learn contact lens fitting procedures, ophthalmic terminology, and patient education techniques.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while taking direction from a Certified Contact Lens Fitter and providers.
    • Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
