Job Summary 

The Consulting Product Analyst (CPA) functions as the Product Owner for the IT systems and processes for the Hospital Based Service (HBS) Line of HCA’s Clinical Service Group. The CPA serves as the subject matter expert for HBS clinical and administrative systems and enables these solutions through requirements analysis, configuration, and deployments. The CPA executes the development, implementation, and management of scheduling solutions, mostly QGenda, for the Hospital Based Services organization. The CPA will also establish application support processes, provide end user support, and maintain supporting documentation for HBS systems. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Product Analysis, Design and Implementations 
    • Requirements Gathering – Engage with stakeholders and end users to analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies and document requirements to support software development and enhancements. 
    • Solution Design – Work with various product managers and developers to design software solutions that address the needs of the Hospital Based Services organization. 
    • Configuration and Customization - Works closely with software vendors (internal or external) to meet customer needs, configure and test the application, and prepare environments for go-live. 
    • Implementations - Works closely with the business to plan for go-live, ensure knowledge transfer and training, and prepare end users for initial activities within the system. 
    • Project Management – Assist in project planning and management activities, including defining project scope, timelines and deliverables. 
  • Data Management and Integrations 
    • Data Capture and Flow - Understands how data enters the system, where it flows, and what it means. 
    • Reporting – Understands reporting requirements from the stakeholders and works closely with the Data Management and BI team to define data sources and systems 
    • Integrations – Designs and supports data exchange between various HCA systems, including payroll and HR systems, and understands the mechanisms facilitating the integration. 
  • Product Maintenance and Enhancements 
    • Change Coordination - Documents system maintenance and changes, prepares release notes, and communicates downtime. 
    • Enhancement Backlog - Handles intake of enhancement requests, assesses for feasibility, prioritizes based on value and effort, and tracks to delivery. 
    • Quality Assurance - Performs and documents testing of system changes in pre-production environments and performs smoke testing in production (when applicable). 
    • Continuous Improvement - Independently researches ideas that improve technology and/or processes, proposes changes, and measures impact. 
    • Vendor Relationship – works closely with vendor (internal or external), actively participates in regular meetings, stays informed of product roadmap, and coordinates maintenance and releases. 
  • Product Support and Documentation 
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Serves as the SME for system functionality, processes, infrastructure, data, troubleshooting, etc. 
    • Documentation - Maintains a robust library of system support documentation (e.g. flow diagrams, user guides, support matrices, knowledge base articles, and recordings) in centralized locations. 
    • Incidents and Requests - Escalates to vendor as appropriate, and coordinates resolution across all parties. Completes configuration and access requests in a timely manner. 
    • Customer Service - Acts with empathy to provide the highest level of service to resolve issues and answer questions for end users and other stakeholders. 
    • Downtime - Supports business preparation for downtime and assists with downtime procedures when initiated. Prepares disaster recovery plans. 
    • Information Security - Maintains Information Systems Account Management (ISAM) document and processes. Supports other security reviews/requests and maintains appropriate documentation. 
  • Teamwork and Communication 
    • Presentations and Workshops - Performs demos, leads workshops, and delivers presentations for the business and other various audiences. 
    • Written Communication - Prepares formal email communications and other documents to be distributed to wide audiences (e.g. downtime messages, go-live announcements, release notes). 
    • Collaboration - Builds relationships, communicates, and collaborates with stakeholders of all levels, personalities, and technical expertise (e.g. business leaders, end users, vendors, project teams, etc.). 
    • Accountability - Motivated to work independently. Holds self and others accountable as an effective way to build trust and drive progress. 

Education & Experience: 

  • High School Graduate/Equivalent Required 
  • Bachelor's degree Preferred 
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience Required 
  • 5-7 years of experience with the following systems: Scheduling, HR, Payroll, and/or Time Tracking Preferred 
  • Knowledge of HCA Information Technology Group processes & tools Preferred 
  • Exposure to the following applications: Qgenda Preferred
