Position Summary
Spire is currently seeking a Consultant. This individual would be responsible for assisting owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors within the AEC industry, on both proactive and forensic consulting projects related to project controls (time, cost, and risk). Assist with the completion of client engagements and internal projects. Promote Spire’s company values and work to achieve the company’s core purpose.
Responsibilities
· Apply foundational knowledge gained as an Associate Consultant while actively expanding expertise and contributing to the development of others.
· Apply knowledge gained through industry research and continued learning to real-world project work while deepening technical and business expertise in preparation for advancement to the next level.
· Actively engage in learning new methodologies and technical skillsets, applying critical thinking and attention to detail in day-to-day responsibilities.
· Demonstrate strong communication skills, curiosity, and a self-motivated approach to exploring and understanding assigned work.
· Continue to build knowledge and consistently apply techniques and methodologies relevant to analysis support within the role.
· Support client communication through clear, professional verbal and written interactions, including the creation of visual aids and demonstratives.
· Build familiarity with business development by observing and participating in client development conversations and related strategic efforts.
· Conduct industry research and deepen technical and business knowledge to support ongoing professional growth and readiness for advancement.
Education/Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in construction, project controls, scheduling, cost estimating, claims, dispute resolution consulting, or related consulting preferred.
• Experience supporting project controls, scheduling, cost management, claims analysis, dispute resolution consulting, or forensic project work preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Professional certifications such as PSP, CCP, PMP, PE, CCE, or similar credentials are preferred but not required.
Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, RSMeans, Microsoft Visio, and Sage.
• Ability to review and analyze project schedules, cost data, and project documentation.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new software tools and systems.
