Absence Management Consultant-Intermediate

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Employee Relations team in the role of Absence Management Consultant-Intermediate.

Description

Coordinates the administration of the Absence Management Programs. Partners with all levels of leaders and team members to coordinate, analyze, and investigate specific information related to cases. Reviews and interprets disability documentation and determines appropriate accommodations for team members. Implements accommodations and ensures compliance with IU Health policies and federal and state leave regulations while providing instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to leaders, team members and Human Resources (HR). Makes decisions associated with appeals, approvals, and denials of accommodations based upon medical certification/documentation from the healthcare providers. Works toward the goal of facilitating and monitoring successful return to work of team members. Establishes and maintains effective recordkeeping systems.

Reports to: Executive Director-Employee Relations, Investigations & Leave Management

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • CPDM (Certified Professional Disability Management) and CLMS (Certified Leave Management Specialist) preferred.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires experience working with FMLA, Worker's Compensation, ADAAA laws, LTD, STD, and Cobra.
  • Requires proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment preferred.
