**About the role** Ur-Energy is hiring a Construction Technician at our Casper Construction Shop. This is an entry-level position where you will assist in hands-on construction tasks including piping fabrication, welding, and equipment installation in support of our uranium mining operations. If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to work alongside an experienced team, this is a great place to build your career.   **What you'll do** - Construct header houses and distribution piping - Install metering equipment and cabling - Fabricate sub-assemblies and assemblies - Build piping headers, fuse Polypipe, glue PVC piping, and connect metal piping components - Perform basic welding, cutting, and metal fabrication tasks in support of construction and assembly projects - Operate welding equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures - Assist with tracking construction material inventory and notify supervisor of additional needs - Coordinate work with crew members to ensure safe and efficient progress - Periodic on-site work at Lost Creek or Shirley Basin may be required **What you'll bring** - High school diploma or GED; or 1--3 months of related experience --- or an equivalent combination - Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record - Basic math skills and ability to follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals - Clear oral and written communication skills; ability to document daily activities in logbooks - Basic computer or tablet proficiency - Prior experience with basic welding and metal fabrication is a plus **Work environment** This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. You will regularly walk, stand, climb, and lift --- up to 100 lbs occasionally. Work is performed in a shop and outdoor industrial setting with exposure to mechanical equipment, weather conditions, chemicals, welding fumes, and moderate to loud noise. Ladder work up to 10--12 feet is required at times.
