We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to support yard and field operations for a modular building provider in Odessa, TX. This role requires a strong construction background, with a preference for HVAC experience, and hands-on ability to inspect, repair, and prepare modular units for customer use. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect modular units and determine scope of repairs for incoming and outgoing units
Perform general construction and maintenance work, including:
Framing and finish carpentry
Drywall patching and repair
Flooring installation and repair
Interior and exterior painting
Light electrical and basic plumbing repairs
Perform HVAC inspections, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance as required
Complete yard-based service work and assist with field service calls when needed
Document damages, completed repairs, and unit readiness status
Ensure units meet quality standards and are ready for scheduled delivery
Maintain proper inventory of tools, parts, and materials
Safely operate company vehicles and equipment when assigned
Complete service documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures
Tools & Equipment Used
Construction and maintenance hand tools
Power tools
HVAC diagnostic tools (as applicable)
Painting and drywall repair equipment
Computer or tablet for inspections and documentation
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Construction experience required (modular, residential, or commercial preferred)
HVAC experience strongly preferred (certification not required)
Carpentry experience required; electrical, plumbing, and welding experience a plus
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer skills and effective communication abilities
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors
