Job Details

Job Details / Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety policies, procedures, and training programs
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations, with particular focus on excavation, trenching, heavy equipment, and utility work
Conduct regular jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections across active projects
Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes
Deliver safety training and toolbox talks for field crews, supervisors, and new hires
Partner with project teams and leadership to embed safety into daily operations and planning
Maintain required safety documentation, reporting, and metrics
Serve as the primary safety resource and culture champion for the organization

Qualifications:

7–10+ years of progressive safety experience in construction, preferably heavy civil, excavation, earthwork, or similar field environments
Deep knowledge of OSHA standards, especially excavation/trenching, heavy equipment, and utility safety
Proven ability to lead safety programs, train field teams, and drive cultural change
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with crews, supervisors, and leadership
Preferred certifications: OSHA 30 or OSHA 500, CSP, CHST, or equivalent
Willingness to spend meaningful time in the field across the region
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
