Construction Project Manager – EPC / Construction Management

Position Overview

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting large-scale EPC (Engineer-Procure-Construct) and construction management projects. This role supports the EPC Project Manager or Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day field and project execution from pre-construction through completion and warranty closeout.

This position may be based out of either the Omaha, NE office or the Kansas City, MO office; however, candidates based in Kansas City must be willing to travel frequently to Omaha for project and client site needs.

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading construction execution across safety, schedule, cost, quality, subcontractor management, and client engagement while ensuring successful delivery of single or multiple concurrent projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities across assigned EPC/construction projects
  • Support project planning including scheduling, estimating, budgeting, cost development, and execution strategy
  • Ensure strict adherence to project safety programs, policies, and training requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across all field teams and subcontractors
  • Manage construction scope including contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, change orders, and claims mitigation
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and serve as a key interface for project communication and reporting
  • Participate in risk reviews and coordinate with legal and project leadership as required
  • Execute project plans including construction execution strategy, QA/QC plans, staffing plans, procurement plans, and site logistics planning
  • Lead RFP and bid processes including subcontractor prequalification, evaluation, and award recommendations
  • Oversee project financial controls including cost tracking, forecasting, earned value, cash flow reporting, and budget management
  • Administer RFIs, submittals, contract documentation, and project closeout processes
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables with project schedules and construction sequencing requirements
  • Manage commissioning, startup coordination, turnover documentation, and warranty support activities
  • Ensure compliance with permits, licensing, insurance, bonding, and contract requirements
  • Conduct project audits for safety, quality, progress, and financial performance
  • Review and approve field reports, progress updates, and construction documentation
  • Manage construction staffing, field supervision onboarding, and labor planning
  • Oversee equipment, materials receiving, inventory, and logistics management
  • Support labor relations, trade coordination, and workforce planning as required
  • Mentor field staff, coordinators, interns, and assistant project managers
  • Support community and trade partner relationships as needed across project execution
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, standards, and contractual obligations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience
  • 7+ years of construction project management experience within EPC, construction management, or heavy industrial projects
  • Strong background in construction execution, scheduling, cost control, and contract management
  • Experience managing subcontractors, field teams, and multi-discipline project execution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Access preferred)
  • Experience with project management, scheduling, and document control systems preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
