Major/Essential Functions
Leadership & Supervision- Lead, direct, and supervise an in-house project team of approximately 10 skilled trades personnel including carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general craftsmen and several external contractors.
- Assign and schedule project team to perform construction, renovation, repairs, and installations.
- Oversee third party project related contractors, providing guidance to deliver projects cost-effectively and on schedule.
- Train, coach, and mentor staff to develop skills, craftsmanship, and safe work behaviors.
- Provide guidance to establish constructive working relationships with peers, customers, and stakeholders.
- Engage in conflict resolution.
- Facilitate daily project briefings and weekly team safety meetings.
- Interpret drawings, scopes of work, and specifications to plan project phases and coordinate work sequencing.
- Develop and manage short-term and overall project schedules.
- Ensure coordination among trades to avoid delays and rework.
- Monitor labor hours and material usage to maintain project budgets.
- Coordinate delivery schedules, storage areas, and secure jobsite access.
- Perform rough order of magnitude estimating to support project decision.
- Submit requisition materials and/or third-party contracts.
- Prepare and submit project budget estimate, progress reporting, and cost tracking.
- Monitor project expenses and address budgetary issues.
- Report project budget issues to Engineering & Construction leadership.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, TTU safety policies, and jobsite safety procedures.
- Perform daily site inspections to identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment.
- Inspect work in progress and upon completion to verify craftsmanship meets TTU specifications and building codes.
- Resolve field conflicts related to construction methods, materials, or design changes.
- Coordinate inspections with fire marshal, accessibility reviewer, and other authorities.
- Work directly with campus customers, building occupants, and stakeholders to provide schedule updates and minimize disruptions to academic and research environments.
- Provide regular project progress updates to Engineering & Construction leadership.
- Punch-list and verify completion of work.
- Confirm system start-up, equipment testing, and documentation of warranties.
- Ensure work areas are cleaned and returned to operational conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in construction management, or related field.
- Prior experience working in higher education, facilities management, or public-sector construction.
- 7+ years of field construction experience in commercial or institutional construction.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience leading multi-trade teams.
- Training or certification in OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, or NCCER.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or Interior Design or related field plus three years experience in large project management. An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
