Job Title: Construction Project EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a diligent Construction Project Engineer who will play a critical role in document management, submittal verification, and project coordination. The successful candidate will ensure that contract documents and shop drawings are well-organized and meet project specifications. This role requires building strong relationships with local authorities and managing subcontractor and vendor access. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining an orderly field office and supporting various project needs such as purchase orders, subcontract tracking, and project close-out documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Review, organize, and maintain contract documents and shop drawings.
  • Verify subcontractor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor access to the construction site.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly field office and job files.
  • Assist with purchase orders, subcontract tracking, project close-out documents, and punch list completion.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, write Requests for Information (RFIs), and resolve issues via telephone.
  • Address project issues creatively and involve upper management when necessary.
  • Promote company values and assist subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Utilize mobile technology for collaboration and job duties.
  • Track permits, sub-permits, and project issues to ensure adherence to the project schedule.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in reading plans and working with concrete and masonry systems.
  • Experience in structural modifications, demolition, and carpentry.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and lead subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and Life Safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration and commercial kitchen setups.
  • Experience in theme parks is a plus.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn construction techniques and practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
