Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Alaska Area Operations Leader to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a Seller/Doer who thrives in a collaborative environment, excels at client relationships, and has proven experience in project management, specifically in Owners Representative services. The successful candidate will lead our Alaska operations, manage a multidisciplinary team, participate in internal project governance, and serve as Project Executive for key Alaska clients.

Role accountabilities:

Alaska Operations & Team Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, engineers, and support staff.
  • Oversee resource allocation, staff utilization, and professional development.
  • Lead Alaska workforce planning efforts to ensure optimal staffing levels and skills for current and future project demands.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and strategic direction to the Alaska Project Management team.
  • Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Project Executive Leadership

  • Serve as Project Executive for Owners Representative project management services for key Alaska clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure successful project delivery, on time and within budget.
  • Oversee project quality, risk management, financial performance, and client satisfaction.

Alaska Business Development (Seller/Doer)

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with public and private sector clients across Alaska.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Alaska clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.

Arcadis Internal Project Review & Governance

  • Ensure projects comply with Arcadis internal project review and governance processes, including risk assessments, quality assurance, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Participate in project reviews, milestone approvals, and internal governance meetings to ensure project success and risk mitigation.
  • Drive implementation of best practices in project delivery, financial controls, and reporting in line with Arcadis standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in project management, operations leadership, and business development within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
  • Demonstrated Seller/Doer track record with established Alaska client relationships.
  • Experience serving as Project Executive or Owners Representative on large, complex projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • PMP, AIA, PE, CCM, or similar professional certification preferred.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
