The Role

At VAI Resort, we're building one of the most exciting hospitality and entertainment destinations in the world. As the Construction Procurement Specialist, you'll play an important role in bringing that vision to life by ensuring our construction teams have the materials, equipment, and supplies they need to keep the project moving forward. 

Working onsite in Glendale alongside Fisher Construction and the VAI Development Team, you'll coordinate the procurement of construction materials, manage vendor relationships, track deliveries, and maintain purchasing records that support one of Arizona's most ambitious construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong partnerships, and takes pride in keeping projects organized, efficient, and on schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Source construction materials, equipment, and services that support the ongoing development of VAI Resort.
  • Research, qualify, and build relationships with vendors to ensure quality, value, and timely delivery.
  • Obtain competitive pricing, negotiate costs and purchasing terms, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Coordinate deliveries with vendors, warehouses, and project teams to ensure materials arrive where and when they are needed.
  • Monitor purchase orders, backorders, returns, and inventory to support uninterrupted construction activities.
  • Review materials received to verify quality, quantities, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Process invoices, reconcile pricing discrepancies, and coordinate with Accounting to ensure timely payment.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records using procurement and inventory management systems.
  • Partner closely with Fisher Construction, project managers, warehouse personnel, and vendors to proactively resolve procurement challenges.
  • Support administrative activities including documentation, reporting, meetings, and special projects as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with vendors and project teams.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, purchasing processes, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency using procurement, inventory, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support a growing team wherever needed.
  • Ability to adapt as priorities evolve throughout the construction and pre-opening phases.

Education | Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or construction administration experience preferred.

  • Experience supporting commercial construction, hospitality, or large-scale development projects is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with procurement software, inventory management systems, and purchase order processes.

  • Knowledge of construction terminology, materials, and industry practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite in Glendale, Arizona.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout office, warehouse, and construction environments.

  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Ability to work around active construction sites while following all required safety protocols.

  • Frequent use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.

 Position Details

  • Full-time, hourly employee
  • Salary:  $30.00/Hour
