Job Summary

Night Shift Construction Manager in Clayton, NC. This role involves leading daily coordination of night shift field activities, collaborating with the day shift team for shift turnover, ensuring work quality, and leading the night shift team. Your dedication to safety, health, and well-being will be paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily coordination of night shift field activities.
  • Collaborate with the day shift team for effective shift turnover.
  • Ensure work quality and lead the night shift team.
  • Promote a strong focus on Construction Safety Culture and a “Safety First” mindset.
  • Manage multi-discipline, large-scale construction projects or similar management of small to mid-cap project portfolios in the Life Science Industry.
  • Coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines and subcontractors.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and client personnel regarding construction activities, schedules, sequencing, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least 15 years of construction site experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience as a general foreman, superintendent, and/or construction manager.
  • Experience with field supervision of craft, particularly MEP trades.
  • Experience coordinating and planning pipe pressure tests, flushing, cleaning, passivation, blowdown, and drying activities.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.
  • Knowledge of the commissioning and qualification process as it specifically relates to MEP systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationship building.
  • Advanced knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, architectural systems, clean room systems, and general construction processes.
  • Working knowledge of cleanroom and GMP systems in a pharma environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with LEAN strategies and technologies in project execution, including Last Planner System (LPS), 5S Construction, and off-site manufacturing (OSM) construction.
  • Familiarity with reviewing and executing project schedules in Primavera P6 format and Last Planner (vPlanner) format.
  • Proficiency in using 3D technologies such as Navisworks, Revizto, BIM360, REVIT, or others.
  • Life Science industry experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours and sometimes under extreme temperature and weather conditions.
  • Stamina to walk large job sites, climb stairs or ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Capability to move and balance around construction sites, including uneven terrain, scaffolding, or tight spaces.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to inspect work or access certain areas.
  • Good vision for reading drawings, inspecting work, and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Strong hearing to be fully aware of your surroundings.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools or equipment with precision and control.
