Oxford Solutions is working with a client to add construction management resources to an active data center project in Buffalo, NY. This is a contract role expected to run approximately 6 months, with a target start date of June 29.

This role is ideal for a field-focused Construction Manager with experience supporting complex commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects. Candidates do not need to be local to Buffalo, but must be willing to travel to the project site for the duration of the assignment. Candidates from nearby markets such as Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or surrounding regions are encouraged to apply. Per diem is available for travel-related expenses.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for helping ensure the facility is built correctly, safely, and in alignment with design documents, specifications, quality requirements, and project schedule. This position works closely with project stakeholders and commissioning teams, while remaining focused on construction execution, subcontractor coordination, schedule management, quality oversight, and turnover readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field construction activities for an active data center project
  • Coordinate MEP subcontractor work across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, and fire/life safety scopes
  • Monitor schedule progress, field sequencing, quality, safety, and specification compliance through regular site walks
  • Support RFI, submittal, field documentation, and project communication processes
  • Track punch list items and coordinate construction turnover to commissioning teams at key phase gates
  • Work with construction, engineering, commissioning, vendor, and operations teams to resolve field issues
  • Support quality management, equipment readiness, and system handoff activities during construction
  • Anticipate commissioning requirements to help support successful testing, turnover, and long-term facility performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of construction management, field supervision, MEP coordination, or related project field experience
  • Experience supporting technically complex construction projects such as data centers, commercial facilities, industrial plants, power generation, or similar environments
  • Strong understanding of MEP construction activities, field sequencing, quality control, and turnover requirements
  • Experience managing subcontractor activity and communicating with field teams, project leadership, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven project environment
  • Military construction or facilities experience is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • OSHA 30 Construction required at hire or ability to complete during onboarding
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
  • PMP or CCM certification preferred for senior-level candidates

Work Schedule and Travel

  • Contract assignment expected to run approximately 6 months
  • Target start date of June 29
  • Project located in Buffalo, NY
  • Monday through Friday schedule, approximately 50 hours per week
  • Travel home may be available on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings, depending on project needs
  • Candidates outside the Buffalo area will be considered if willing to travel to site for the duration of the project
  • Per diem available for travel-related expenses
  • Daily work will take place on an active construction site, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions
