Do you take pride in monitoring work closely, coordinating with project partners, and helping ensure communities have reliable water and wastewater systems they can depend on?
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Water Team at a client site in Chester, PA, where you will support the successful delivery of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll observe construction activities, document progress, verify work against project requirements, and help uphold the quality standards that protect public health, strengthen critical infrastructure, and support thriving communities.
What You'll Do::
- Monitor construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects to ensure full compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and quality standards
- Review drawings, submittals, and construction documents; verify materials, methods, and work sequences meet requirements
- Document field observations, measurements, and computations to determine acceptability of completed work and support progress payment verification
- Identify nonconforming work, evaluate proposed corrective measures, and recommend acceptance or rejection
- Coordinate daily with owners, contractors, and local authorities; serve as the primary on‑site contact for construction‑related issues
- Prepare clear daily reports, maintain accurate project records, and support QA testing, surveys, and constructability reviews
- Lead project meetings, guide administrative documentation, and mentor entry‑level inspectors to support successful project delivery
What You Bring::
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of related construction observation experience required
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, contract documents, and industry standards with the ability to interpret client contracts
- Ability to work independently on complex projects as well as collaboratively within a team; willingness to guide entry level staff
- Excellent communication skills and strong mathematics skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license required; extensive travel may be required

Salary Range::
$33.00 - $41.00
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
