Experienced Construction Foreman Needed for Exciting Historic Renovation Project in Newton, NC!

Monument Construction Carolina Division, a subsidiary of The Monument Companies, is seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to join our team for an exciting historic renovation project in Newton, North Carolina.

The Construction Foreman will support the Superintendent and Project Management team in coordinating daily job site activities, subcontractors, material deliveries, safety compliance, and quality control. This is a hands-on role that requires strong construction knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform carpentry and general construction work as needed.

Essential Job Functions

Safety

  • Promote and enforce The Monument Companies' safety policies and procedures.

  • Monitor subcontractors, vendors, employees, and visitors for compliance with site safety requirements.

  • Assist with maintaining safety records, inspections, and incident documentation.

  • Address and document safety concerns and violations in accordance with company procedures.

  • Assist with accident response and reporting when necessary.

Construction Operations

  • Assist the Superintendent in coordinating daily job site activities.

  • Coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries to maintain project schedules.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, and productivity.

  • Walk the job site daily to ensure quality, cleanliness, safety, and progress.

  • Assist with inspections, punch lists, project documentation, and closeout activities.

  • Assist with procurement and tracking of materials as directed.

Hands-On Construction

  • Perform miscellaneous carpentry and general construction work as needed.

  • Complete punch-list items and quality control corrections.

  • Assist with demolition, framing, drywall repair, trim work, painting, door and hardware installation, and other construction-related tasks.

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Assist with site preparation, layout, material handling, and job site organization.

Post-Construction

  • Assist with project closeout and turnover to ownership and property management.

  • Participate in punch-list walkthroughs and quality inspections.

  • Ensure materials, warranties, manuals, and project documentation are properly organized and transferred.

  • Verify completed spaces are clean and ready for occupancy.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.

  • Construction, renovation, carpentry, or related experience required.

  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and maintaining project schedules strongly preferred.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • Lead RRP Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • Spanish-speaking or bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position located in Newton, North Carolina. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., though additional hours may be required based on project needs.
