Description
We are looking for a hands-on Working Foreman to lead and work alongside field crews on residential and multifamily additions, renovations, new homes, and select commercial projects in a jobsite-based construction environment. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client, a long-established regional builder serving the Lancaster, PA area. This role is responsible for field execution, crew leadership, and daily jobsite progress rather than office-based project management. The position is ideal for a working foreman who can take ownership in the field while contributing directly to high-quality construction work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside field crews on active residential, multifamily, renovation, addition, new-home, and light commercial construction projects
- Drive daily jobsite execution by keeping crews productive, materials organized, and project work moving according to plan
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and field instructions to guide accurate installation
- Oversee carpentry and general construction activities while maintaining quality, safety, and workmanship standards
- Communicate jobsite needs, schedule updates, and project issues clearly with company leadership, subcontractors, and field team members
- Support project starts, daily site setup, inspections, punch work, and closeout activities as needed
- Identify field problems early and help resolve construction issues without unnecessary delays
- Travel to job sites generally within about one hour of the Lancaster, PA area
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a working foreman, construction foreman, carpenter foreman, lead carpenter, or similar hands-on field leadership role
- Experience with residential construction, multifamily renovations, additions, remodeling, new homes, or small commercial projects
- Strong hands-on carpentry or general construction background with the ability to lead from the field
- Ability to read construction drawings, understand scopes of work, and guide crews through daily jobsite tasks
- Must have direct field leadership experience, not only project coordination or office-based project management experience
- Must be comfortable working full-time on jobsites with no remote, hybrid, or office-based component
- Ability to reliably travel to Lancaster-area job sites, typically within about one hour of Lancaster, PA
Benefits
Compensation: Approximately $80,000-$90,000 total compensation, including bonus and profit sharing.
Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
