S.E.T., Inc. is a growing $100M+ heavy civil contractor specializing in highway, bridge, utility, and infrastructure construction throughout Ohio and surrounding states.

We are hiring a hands-on Construction Field Support & Logistics Manager to oversee the daily movement, organization, and readiness of equipment, tools, materials, and support resources for our field crews.

This is not a truck-driving or mechanic position. The focus is construction operations, equipment coordination, yard organization, purchasing, crew support, and problem-solving.

The selected candidate will train directly with our retiring Field Support Manager, who has more than 30 years of company and equipment knowledge.

Required Experience

Applicants must have experience supporting construction operations in areas such as:

  • Heavy civil, highway, utility, excavation, pipeline, or general construction
  • Coordinating equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite needs
  • Managing a construction yard, warehouse, tool room, or field-support operation
  • Purchasing tools, PPE, consumables, and construction supplies
  • Working directly with field crews, foremen, superintendents, or project managers
  • Organizing multiple daily priorities in a fast-paced construction environment

Experience limited primarily to commercial driving or equipment repair will not meet the requirements of this position.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the main point of contact for daily field equipment, tool, and material needs
  • Coordinate equipment scheduling, trucking, transfers, and jobsite deliveries
  • Prepare crew trucks and trailers with the correct tools and equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventories of tools, attachments, safety equipment, and support gear
  • Purchase PPE, tools, consumables, and jobsite supplies while managing vendor pricing
  • Receive, label, store, and organize incoming and returned project materials
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized equipment yard and warehouse
  • Track certifications and inspections for chains, slings, gas monitors, trench boxes, lasers, and related equipment
  • Coordinate repair needs and equipment availability with the Shop Manager and mechanics
  • Outfit new crew trucks with complete tool inventories
  • Supervise two yard and warehouse support employees
  • Anticipate field needs and resolve issues before they delay construction operations

Qualifications

  • Construction operations, field support, equipment logistics, yard, or warehouse experience
  • Working knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and jobsite operations
  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage frequent calls and changing priorities throughout the day
  • Comfortable communicating with crews, foremen, vendors, mechanics, and project leadership
  • Basic computer, email, recordkeeping, and inventory-tracking skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
