Construction Engineer

Overview:

We are currently hiring a Construction Engineer for a long term contract in Newport News, VA. This could be a mechanical engineer, civil engineer, or construction management related background.

Description:

• Plans, designs and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities.
• Prepares architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.
• Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects.
• Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
• Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.
• Work on a project cell overseeing large construction projects.
• Applicant should be able to be in the field and oversee construction activities for conformance with requirements and safety standards
• Applicant should have technical writing experience to write up field conditions as observed.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.
• BS Degree.
• 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Preference for an engineering or construction management degree.
• Specific job experience on construction projects with a general contractor.
• Experience reviewing engineered drawings.

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
