Salary $152,000 to $155,000 per year as a full-time employee, plus full company benefits, including 10 paid vacation days, 11 paid holidays, and 5 paid sick days.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the LAUSD Facilities Program
Position Functions:
1. Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or
contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
2. Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish
negotiating position
3. Provide support in price negotiations
4. Prepare claim analysis and estimates
5. Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches
6. Assist in reviewing contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability
7. Conducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services
Required Experience:
1. Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction.
2. Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs
3. Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
4. Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences
5. Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal
6. Good oral and written communication skills
7. Fact-find and in-depth skills
Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
