This role is integral to our financial operations, providing oversight and management for all construction financial activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a solid understanding of construction WIP (Work in Progress) and a proven track record in the construction industry.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all financial operations related to construction projects from start to finish, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
2. Manage construction WIP schedules, ensuring all financial aspects of construction projects are accurately reported and tracked.
3. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of construction financial operations.
4. Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate and timely.
5. Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments.
6. Prepare reliable and timely financial reports for senior management, highlighting trends and analyzing variances.
7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to help guide decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (like CMA or CPA) will be considered a plus.
2. Experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
3. Solid understanding and working knowledge of construction WIP.
4. Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
5. Exceptional knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Strong leadership qualities and a team-oriented mindset.
