Responsibilities
We are looking for a Construction Claims Manager who will assist in the administration and documentation of claims resulting from our legacy, current and future development and construction activities. The position requires a detail oriented, self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills. This individual will report to the Director, Construction Claims and will be based out of our New York office. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
As a member of the Risk Management Department, assist the Director, Construction Claims in the documentation and administration of internal and external claim related matters, including
Coordination with internal stakeholders on appropriate and timely reporting of incidents/claims; ensure all claims are reported to the appropriate insurer(s) and notice is provided to internal constituents as necessary; and verify timely TPA/insurer responses
Coordinate with site personnel regarding claims reporting, and investigation protocols
Initial response regarding defense and investigation assignments
Work with defense counsel in preparing interrogatory responses and discovery.
Manage communication with defense counsel, insurer/TPA regarding strategies around authorizations, reserving, resolution, and settlement
Proactively monitor overall claim strategy and resolution including coordination with defense counsel, brokers, insurers/TPA in consideration of policy coverage terms, deductibles and aggregates
Participate in regular claim file reviews to revisit progress and resolution strategy
Assist in claim recovery from downstream parties, as needed
Collect, compile and analyze claim data, generating administrative reports that coherently and succinctly identify loss data and trends
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years in the risk management and/or insurance claim industry with experience in General Liability (particularly New York Labor Law 240) and Workers' Compensation.
Familiarity with construction operations
Familiarity with captive insurance companies
Established professional relationships with various insurance providers, claims administrators and defense counsel
Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying viewpoints and to develop viable solutions
Strong organizational skills

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $140,000 - $150,000 / year
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
