A growing NYC general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of high-end retail and commercial interior projects across Manhattan. This role offers hands-on exposure to fast-paced build-outs, working closely with experienced project teams from preconstruction through closeout.

Description
- Support Project Managers across all phases of construction (precon → closeout)
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Assist with budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and field teams
- Help maintain project schedules, logistics plans, and procurement efforts
- Participate in project meetings and assist with progress reporting
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure scope alignment and completeness
- Monitor long-lead items and ensure timely delivery to site
- Assist in resolving field issues to keep projects on schedule
- Help manage project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation

Profile
- A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:
- 2-5 years of experience with a general contractor (commercial interiors preferred)
- Exposure to retail, office, or tenant fit-out projects in NYC
- Strong understanding of construction processes, RFIs, submittals, and scheduling
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills working with both field and office teams
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software preferred
- Motivated to grow into a full Project Manager role
