Job Description Description: SAIC is seeking a Configuration Management Lead to support the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) under the newly awarded Information Security Services (ISS) contract, providing innovative solutions to strengthen and safeguard the nations banking system. We are seeking passionate and talented professionals to join our team in delivering cutting-edge cybersecurity, IT operations, and risk management services. This exciting opportunity allows you to work alongside industry leaders, leveraging advanced technologies to support the FDICs mission of maintaining public confidence in the financial system. This position is expected to be hybrid remote and will require on-site work in Arlington, VA.

Configuration Management Process Development and Governance

  • Develop and publish a written Configuration Management Process aligned with ITIL 4 for the management of configuration items (CIs).
  • Ensure all processes and policies comply with FDIC technology and governance standards.
  • Conduct frequent reviews and updates of the process to maintain compliance with evolving requirements.

Configuration Item (CI) Oversight and Maintenance

  • Manage the integrity and accuracy of FDICs Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring that all CIs are current, accurate, and linked to appropriate IT services and application owners.
  • Oversee the tracking and lifecycle management of CIs, supporting related IT Service Management (ITSM) processes like Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Proactively address gaps in FDICs existing CMDB through targeted audits, ensuring operational quality and continuity.

Audit Readiness and Compliance

  • Conduct baseline audits and reports on FDICs CMDB and associated processes to identify issues and opportunities for optimization.
  • Prepare and manage compliance audits to maintain governance and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices integrate seamlessly with configuration management.

Reporting and Metrics Development

  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to improve the transparency of Configuration Management activities.
  • Provide comprehensive reports highlighting the effectiveness and maturity of the Configuration Management process, including evolution toward federal compliance standards.

Innovation and Integration Support

  • Work with cross-functional service teams to integrate emerging technologies that enhance FDICs ability to manage and monitor configurations effectively.
  • Support ITSM leadership by ensuring configuration management aligns with broader ITIL 4 objectives and ITAM programs.
  • Facilitate communication between FDIC stakeholders and CM processes for cross-functional alignment.

Training and Collaboration

  • Provide training and mentorship to team members and FDIC stakeholders, ensuring understanding and adherence to configuration management processes.
  • Actively participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to assess the impact of changes on CIs and enforce compliance within the configuration management framework.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, and fourteen (14) years or more relevant experience.
  • Masters and twelve (12) years or more relevant experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management and IT service delivery using ITIL-aligned standards.
  • Experience with ITSM frameworks and CMDB oversight in a federal or regulated environment.
  • Proven expertise in ITIL 4-based configuration management practices.
  • Experience managing CMDBs using Configuration Management tools, ensuring CI accuracy across complex organizational ecosystems.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify gaps, propose resolutions, and improve Configuration Management processes.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to meet compliance and innovation objectives.
  • Effective communication abilities to advocate for Configuration Management strategies across teams and stakeholders.
  • Solutions-driven mindset with the ability to adapt procedures to technical and regulatory changes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FDIC Public Trust.
  • Ability to successfully pass the SAIC Background investigation to establish a start date.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification in ITIL 4 Foundation or higher and/or Configuration Management certifications.
  • Familiarity with service management frameworks such as ServiceNow or similar platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of federal technology and compliance requirements (e.g., Managed Security Services, SLA reporting guidelines).
