Launch Your IT Career as a Configuration Technician

Entry-Level | Hands-On | Growth Opportunity

Why This Role?

If you’re looking to break into IT, enjoy working with technology, and want a role that builds real, transferable skills, this is a great place to start. As a Configuration Technician, you’ll gain hands-on experience preparing and configuring IT equipment before it’s delivered to customers — learning industry-standard processes in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

This role is ideal for recent graduates, career changers, or anyone eager to start an IT career and grow from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow step-by-step instructions to configure IT devices based on customer needs
  • Unbox, kit, clean, inspect, test, and repackage equipment for deployment
  • Ensure devices are functioning properly before shipment
  • Work hands-on with laptops, desktops, and related IT equipment
  • Escalate technical questions or issues to your supervisor
  • Collaborate with teammates and participate in team meetings
  • Share ideas to improve processes and efficiency
  • Take on additional responsibilities as you grow in the role

What Success Looks Like

  • High-quality, accurate configurations completed on time
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Positive collaboration and willingness to learn
  • Growing confidence and technical skills

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an IT expert — we’re looking for potential, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple simple tasks
  • Team-first attitude with independent work capability
  • Desire to learn and grow in the IT field
  • Attention to detail and pride in quality work

Qualifications

  • Entry-level position — no certifications required
  • Technical certifications are a plus but not mandatory
  • Support provided to pursue relevant IT certifications within the first year

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of related experience or relevant training preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License (fewer than 6 points to meet insurance requirements)

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • Standing, bending, and transporting equipment about 50% of the time
  • Use of basic hand tools
  • Light cleaning and basic hardware assembly/disassembly
  • Ability to work from a computer and follow instructions

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
