Job Description
Title:Computer Field Technician
Qualifications:
JAMF 100 or 200 Certification preferred; ACMT and Network+ Certification considered
Experience troubleshooting and repairing Apple computers
Three years of work experience in supporting a mixed Apple and Windows Server/Client environment
Firm grasp of DHCP, DNS and TCP/IP networking
Experience with Meraki LAN and Wi-Fi networking preferred, but experience with other cloud-based networking systems considered
Experience with Active Directory, Windows SMB Shares and Windows Permissions
Experience with VMWare Virtualization, but other virtualization experience considered
Experience supporting a variety of software applications and platforms: iOS, OS X, OS X Server, Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2/2019, Windows 10, Office 365, JAMF, etc.
Experience supporting Video Teleconferences with Polycom codecs
Experience supporting Smart Technology Smartboards
Experience working with ShoreTel VoIP, but other VoIP experience considered
Able to learn quickly and take initiative on new projects
A keen understand of the importance of confidentiality
Possess the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
Driver's license preferred
Reports to: Director of Technology
Job Goal: To support the educational technology program by providing hardware, software, and peripheral support to computer users districtwide
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Able to work with staff and students harmoniously to support educational technology in the classroom.
Travel to villages as needed to support hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Evaluate, install, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair of hardware, software, and peripherals districtwide.
Provide first-response network support.
Maintain, upgrade, and install patch panel network cabling.
Terminate and punch down any network cable run by maintenance department.
Provide telephone and ticket-based support to users districtwide.
Maintain inventory of equipment through Casper districtwide.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all NWABSD departments.
Participate in departmental team efforts including day-to-day operations and planning.
Earn JAMF 100 within a year of being hired if not already certified.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the NWABSD Board of Education.
(Fulltime, 7.5 hours per day, 261 days per year)
