Design the 3D plant systems powering the future of medical isotope production in a high-impact engineering environment.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-driven CAD Designer to support the design and modeling of complex plant and facility systems. In this role, you will develop and maintain 3D models used to coordinate engineering design, construction execution, and ongoing facility operations.You will work across multiple plant system disciplines including process piping, pressure vessels, HVAC, fire protection, electrical distribution, structural components, and architectural features. Your work will directly contribute to the safe and efficient production of medical isotopes and critical processing solutions.This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional who enjoys working in highly technical environments where accuracy, collaboration, and system integration matter.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping detailed 3D models of plant systems, process skids, facility layouts, and vendor components using CAD/BIM toolsCreating and modifying Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and system piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3DProducing structural and architectural 3D models and associated 2D drawings using RevitDrafting complex piping layouts based on engineering inputs such as:---P&IDs---General Arrangements (GAs)---Piping specifications---Equipment arrangement drawingsUpdating models for tanks, vessels, and process equipment, including piping modificationsPreparing detailed mechanical and construction support drawingsPerforming plant walkdowns and field verification for as-built documentationCollaborating with engineering teams to identify design conflicts and maintain an integrated facility modelSupporting facility system designs that ensure safe and effective operation of production equipment and controlsWhat Success Looks LikeClear ownership and momentum on 1 to 2 mission-critical technology programsDe-risked hardware platforms with a clear path to deploymentStrong alignment between R&D, Engineering, and OperationsHigh-performing technical leaders who trust your judgment and directionData-driven decisions that balance ambition with realismQualificationsAn Associate degree in engineering or related discipline with 3–5 years of recent design experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related field) with relevant design experienceProficiency in AutoCAD (Plant 3D toolset strongly preferred) and/or RevitFamiliarity with drafting practices and engineering design standardsStrong attention to detail and ability to provide sound design input to engineers and designersWhy JoinThis role offers the chance to contribute to advanced engineering projects supporting the production of medical isotopes and innovative solutions with real-world impact.
