PGS Worldwide is seeking a Composite Prototype Technician in Stratford, CT for a 15-month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Composite Prototype Technician will support composite development, experimental prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. This role requires hands-on composite experience, the ability to work from lay-up schematics and engineering drawings, and experience supporting prototype or experimental builds outside of standard production or quality-assurance environments.

Required Skills

  • Experience with composite fabrication, prototype development, or experimental assembly.
  • Ability to construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain composite-related equipment, tooling, and prototype components.
  • Ability to work from composite lay-up schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Experience operating specialized fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to conduct experimental builds and report test data in the required format.
  • Experience performing calibration and alignment checks.
  • Ability to make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Experience preparing custom resin systems, hardeners, curing solutions, or related composite materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and hands-on troubleshooting ability.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, rotorcraft, aircraft, or advanced composite development programs.
  • Experience with composite tooling, lay-up, curing, prototype components, resin systems, or experimental test builds.
  • Experience working in a development, lab, R&D, engineering, or prototype fabrication environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform composite development and experimental prototype fabrication work.
  • Build, assemble, troubleshoot, and test composite prototype components.
  • Maintain and adjust composite-related equipment and tooling.
  • Work from lay-up schematics, engineering drawings, and instructions.
  • Operate specialized fabrication equipment.
  • Conduct experimental builds and report data in the prescribed format.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks.
  • Prepare custom resin systems, hardeners, and curing solutions.
  • Support prototype testing, modifications, replacements, and development activities.

Pay

  • $30.00–$50.00/hour
