As a Compliance Specialist I, you'll dive into the fast-moving world of regulatory compliance-tracking legislation, supporting licensing efforts, and helping ensure McLane stays ahead of changing requirements. This is an on-site position in Temple, TX. Candidates are expected to reside within a 50-mile radius of the office.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and research state and local legislation, regulations, and ordinances related to regulated products, and assess their business impact.

  • Support the preparation and submission of license applications and renewals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Generate and analyze internal reports to support compliance activities and licensing processes.

  • Prepare electronic filings, including EFT payments, and maintain required documentation.

  • Draft correspondence to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders regarding compliance requirements and product restrictions.

  • Assist with required regulatory reporting, including PACT Act filings and DBA/fictitious name applications.

  • Maintain and audit compliance trackers to ensure accurate recordkeeping and adherence to internal standards.

  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to support daily departmental operations and special projects.

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree or some college preferred.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of business experience, ideally in a regulated environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Solid research skills with the ability to locate and interpret information.

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
