The Children’s Health Center and Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital at Duke University Hospital is comprised of pediatric outpatient clinics. The Complex Care Clinic at Duke Children’s delivers exemplary care for each patient and supports a high-acuity population through multidisciplinary collaboration, triage support, and care coordination.
Schedule:
- Full Time: Hours may vary, but will typically fall within a standard Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule.

How you will make an impact
- Provide triage support, gather relevant patient information, and coordinate follow-up care plans with providers while documenting in Epic and managing patient communications.
- Coordinate outpatient services, diagnostic testing, referrals, prescriptions, and prior authorizations for complex pediatric populations.
- Serve as a clinical expert and point of contact, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess needs, develop care plans, and monitor outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on disease states, treatments, medications, and care transitions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Support care transitions, discharge planning, and access to community resources while ensuring compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
What you will need
- BSN required.
- 3 years of nursing experience required.
- Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina required.
- Strong pediatric nursing background, preferably in neurology.
- Experience with telephone triage or care coordination.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to use electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
