EHC is looking for a Competency Advisor for a Client in the Houston Area


Status: Full-Time
Start Date: July 17, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (No Overtime)
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site
Travel: Occasional domestic travel (California, Texas, and Louisiana) may be required based on business needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable Competency Advisor to support competency management, training administration, and employee development initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining competency records, analyzing training data, supporting learning programs, and communicating insights to management.

The ideal candidate will have a background in training coordination, learning and development, workforce development, education, or instructional delivery and be comfortable balancing data analysis with coaching and stakeholder support.

Key Responsibilities

Competency Program Administration

  • Maintain and administer competency records in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Monitor competency program milestones, deadlines, and completion status.
  • Review, update, and improve competency materials based on business needs.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the competency management system.
  • Serve as an Assessor and/or Verifier as required.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze competency and training data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Create reports and communicate findings to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations based on data trends and performance metrics.
  • Explain training and competency data in a clear, actionable manner to management.

Training Operations & Coordination

  • Provide logistical and administrative support for trainers and training programs.
  • Coordinate training schedules, documentation, and communications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support training requirements.
  • Assist with the management and continuous improvement of training operations and development programs.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure policies, procedures, and safety requirements are consistently followed.
  • Evaluate processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Support employee development initiatives and continuous learning efforts.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Experience in training coordination, learning and development, competency management, employee development, education, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting training programs, learning initiatives, or workforce development activities.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including:
    • VLOOKUPs
    • Pivot Tables
    • Data analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or competency management software preferred.

Interview Process
