Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

Education and Experience

Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required. Prior experience in Human Resources or a related field is preferred. Additional years of related work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis up to two years. Must possess strong Microsoft Office Skills including Word and Excel.

Make standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgement. Problems generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor or more experienced Analyst.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to manage data from various sources. Ability to learn new technology quickly. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and associates at all levels of the organization.

The Compensation Specialist assists in the development, management, and administration of compensation programs to ensure compliance and alignment with company objectives, policies, and government regulations.

  • Administers and responds to compensation-related inquiries through the Service Now system.
  • Maintains compensation-related databases and systems that support compensation programs throughout the organization, including maintenance of HRIS tables and queries.
  • Administers ad-hoc bonuses and answers related questions from field and corporate associates.
  • Works with Compensation team to evaluate and edit new or existing jobs.
  • Participates in market surveys.
  • Supports the wage analysis process through market research and insight. Provides initial recommendations for approval.
  • Supports the administration of the annual merit and performance review processes.
  • Performs regular and ad hoc analysis, creating requested reports from multiple data sources.
  • Administers Brookdale's company's minimum wage updates to ensure all associates are paid according to state, federal, and local minimum wage laws.
  • Creates processes and systems to support the Compensation team with information management.
