Through these core values, we make our purpose a reality, “Investing in Communities to Transform Lives.”Position OverviewThe Compensation and Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's payroll processing and employee benefits programs. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll administration while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The administrator collaborates with HR to manage employee records, address inquiries, and facilitate benefits enrollment, all while promoting a positive employee experience. Starting at $65,000 annually , with the opportunity for a higher starting salary based on applicable experience, education, and overall qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesCompensation AdministrationProcess payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.Maintain and update employee records, including payroll changes and benefits enrollments.Assist in the design, implementation, and administration of salary structures, job classifications, and incentive programs.Benefits AdministrationOversee employee benefits programs, including self-funded health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other offerings.Play key role in annual benefits open enrollment process.Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare and submit required reports related to compensation and benefits.Perform regular audits and improvements of payroll processes.Stay informed about payroll and benefits regulations and provide timely recommendations to operational staff.Assist in annual employee census data gathering and reporting.Responsible for HRIS and GL account initial set up, applicable updates and termination of state and local entities related to Birge & Held properties.Market AnalysisAssist in conducting salary benchmarking and benefits analysis to maintain competitive pay structures and benefits packages.Employee SupportServe as a point of contact for employees regarding compensation and benefits inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.CollaborationWork closely with HR leadership and finance teams to align compensation and benefits strategies with overall company goals.Education, Experience, And SkillsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field (preferred).CPP, SPHR/PHR, SHRM-SCP/CP (preferred)Demonstrated technical experience with HRIS and payroll software required, experience with UKG Ready is a highly preferred.Proven experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.Possess exemplary attention to detail.Commitment to handling sensitive employee information with discretionAbility to perform at high levels in fast paced work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demandsProficiency with Microsoft Office products including advanced functions within ExcelWhat We OfferMaintain work-life balance with a flexible hybrid schedule and a generous paid time-off policy, including up to 20 days of PTO per year.
