Purpose: The Compensation Analyst provides analytical support for the administration and management of the company's compensation programs, including base salary, incentive compensation, and job evaluation processes. This role serves as a compensation expert on the Total Rewards team delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that support competitive market positioning and compensation strategy across the organization while maintaining the integrity of corporate and field salary structures.
Essential Functions:
Reporting Relationship: The Compensation Analyst reports to the Director of Compensation
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 5 years:
Requires 5 years of progressive analytical experience with focus on compensation analysis, financial analysis, HR analytics, total rewards, or incentive plan administration
A bachelors degree in Business Administration concentrating in Finance or Human Resource or related field can count for 2 of the five-year requirement
Specialized Training:
Training that leads to understanding of the tenants of a compensation philosophy, job evaluation methodologies, benchmarking, and market analysis preferred
Familiarization of federal and state DOL, FLSA, pay equity, pay transparency, and other applicable compensation regulations preferred
Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits:
Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in complex compensation calculations and data analysis
Ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines; demonstrates consistent quick turnaround of work and fast response times on communication
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel including pivot tables, VLOOPUP, INDEX/MATCH, complex formulas, and data modeling; proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably Success Factors), compensation management platforms, and data analysis tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and integrate complex data from multiple sources, conduct market analysis, and present actionable insights
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build consensus and collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining budget discipline and fiscal responsibility
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present compensation strategies, policies, and decisions to diverse audiences across various organizational levels
Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of compensation planning and to advance the organization's goals
Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments
