Job Title: Community Transportation Supervisor Salary: Commensurate with education and experience and within budget constraints. Range - $44,850 - 48,750 Annually. Work Location: This role is required to be on site in Dearborn 5 days a week. This role does require occasional driving - Chauffeur license will be required upon hire Education: Associates degree in business related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. High School diploma/GED with combined experience in dispatching and computer proficiency may substitute for degree. Experience: One to two years’ experience in dispatching vehicles is preferable, including experience with older adults and individuals living with disabilities. One year of experience in direct management of employees and programs is desired. Familiarity with the aging network, community organizations and resources for seniors is desirable. Experience with data entry and data management is a requirement. Requirements: Has excellent interpersonal and group process skills. Is accurate, conscientious and flexible with attention to detail. Is proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Access. Accepts direction, is well organized, and has the ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to work in a team environment. Must have valid driver’s license, and have or be willing to get a chauffeur license within 90 days of employment. Must complete required transportation and safety trainings for position. Must demonstrate proper securement of a wheelchair and passenger in the vans. Must have reliable transportation. General Job Description: The Transportation Manager oversees The Senior Alliance Transportation program, including managing a team of staff, conducting daily vehicle dispatch duties, and overseeing vehicle maintenance. The Transportation Manager works in a team environment to assist clients in finding suitable transportation, Must be able to work with older adults, caregivers and individuals living with disabilities. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate effectively with individuals from all demographic groups. Answer incoming phone calls on the transportation line, and schedule transportation for clients with The Senior Alliance Transportation program after exploring all other options for transportation. Coordinate multiple transports using Microsoft Outlook and routing software to schedule drivers for all pickups and drop-offs. Must be able to do multiple tasks. This position will require use of a computer to access and input information. Must demonstrate the ability to follow protocols and procedures. Must employ a professional manner that promotes interagency cooperation and evokes respect. Must be willing to obtain a chauffeur license and transport clients when needed. Must be able to make decisions, dispatch individuals and have a sound understanding of the Wayne County geographic area.
