- Plan and lead weekly recreational activities for individuals with disabilities in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.
- Publish a monthly calendar for weekend recreation programs.
- Gather, purchase, and transport program supplies needed for activities.
- Maintain the Emergency Information Book with accurate and up-to-date paperwork from families.
- Develop and implement Community Inclusion Service plans in collaboration with supervisors and families.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports in compliance with organizational and DDD requirements.
- Interview, train, and supervise Weekend Recreation staff.
- Travel throughout Passaic and Morris counties to support program operations.
- Maintain a reliable pool of staff to ensure program capacity in each county.
- Develop new program sites by contacting community organizations.
- Encourage regular participation by reaching out to individuals and families who have not attended recently.
- Act as a liaison to other agency programs and represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, Community Support.
- Associate degree in human services or equivalent experience working with people with disabilities.
- Experience in community event planning or teaching preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software.
- Effective Communication: Clearly and respectfully communicates with participants, families, staff, and external agencies while demonstrating active listening and transparency.
- Ethical Practice: Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards, prioritizing the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
- Leadership and Accountability: Provides direction to staff, models positive behaviors, and supports the success of the Adult’s Night Out (ANO) program.
- Collaboration: Works collaboratively with families, professionals, and community partners to deliver quality services.
- Cultural Humility: Respects and values diverse backgrounds, needs, and perspectives, fostering an inclusive environment.
- Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Approaches challenges with a solution-focused mindset while maintaining professionalism.
- Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensures compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.

- Customer Service: Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
