This position is required to work in person, in office, with an option for one alternative day per week.

Pay Grade N26 Salary FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary/Basic Function

The Community Programs and Engagement Coordinator facilitates new and ongoing OgdenCAN programs and initiatives, builds authentic partnerships, and supports community leadership development to advance the mission of OgdenCAN and Weber State Universitys Office of Community Development. Working under the direction of the Director of the Office of Community Development, this position engages residents, community organizations, and anchor institutions to support community-driven initiatives and programs in alignment with OgdenCANs mission, strategic plans, and budget parameters. The coordinator facilitates program implementation, budget tracking, purchasing, evaluation, data tracking, and reporting to ensure measurable community impact and compliance with grant requirements while centering OgdenCANs mission, vision, and resident voices in engagement efforts.

This position is expected to work 32 hours per week, 12 months per year.

Required Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates degree in community development, public administration, social sciences, nonprofit management, education, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • One year of experience in community engagement, program coordination, nonprofit work, public service, or a related field.
  • Experience working with communities and facilitating resident-centered engagement
  • Experience with community program coordination, data tracking, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting community leadership programs or impact initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Asset-Based Community Development, Placemaking, Design Thinking, or similar participatory engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with grant-funded programs and funder reporting requirements.
  • Experience working in higher education, local government, or community-based organizations.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and evaluation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The Office of Community Development is looking for a community minded, highly organized, and creative individual. The annual salary for this 0.80 FTE position starts at $32,800 and may go up from there depending on candidate qualifications. The position comes with a generous benefits package.
