Job Summary

Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, Principal, or designee, serves as a liaison between the school district and parents, to provide parents with opportunities to participate in their student's education, with a focus on English learners, socio-economically disadvantaged families, and foster youth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide receptionist services for District or school office to serve as first contact point for parents and families, greeting parents, determining parent need, connecting parents to the correct staff and/or department to meet their needs, assist with scheduling meetings, and troubleshooting parent issues to provide customer service to District families. • Provide oral and written translations in Spanish to parents as directed by supervisor. • Provide assistance to parents in filling out necessary District paperwork or applications. • Provide assistance with parent teacher conferences. • Assist Attendance Clerks with attendance issues which include SARB scheduling, contacting of parents, and distribution of information. • Assist with foster youth and homeless services, needs, reports, and distribution of information, materials and supplies to families. • Assist with the collection and recording of student/family information. • Call parents for participation in District or site level meetings. • Assist with the recruitment of parents for District or site level committees. • Distribute and collect surveys to parents. • Types letters, memoranda's, and reports. • Operates standard office equipment. • Prepare mailings. • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). • One year of clerical experience. • Bilingual English/Spanish required. • Ability to obtain/maintain valid CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 work days of employment. • Ability to pass district test(s) with 70% or higher score. • Ability to pass a typing test at 35 words per minute.
